Vikings QB Ponder questionable to return after hip injury

Rookie quarterback Christian Ponder limped off the field during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, a common site for the Minnesota Vikings this season.

Ponder walked off under his own power after he was hit by Bears defensive lineman Israel Idonije and was later carted off the sideline.  He clutched his right hip after the hit, and was grimacing in pain as he limped badly. The Vikings announced that Ponder suffered a hip injury and was questionable to return.

Ponder was replaced by Joe Webb, who sparked the Vikings to a 33-26 win over the Washington Redskins last week after Ponder left the game with a concussion. The Vikings hoped to get a long look at Ponder, the 12th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft who has battled injuries throughout the season. He first injured his hip earlier this season against the Denver Broncos.

Ponder went 4-of-10 passing for 28 yards and an interception before leaving the game.
