Vikings' Matt Cassel fractured foot vs. Saints

Minnesota Vikings fans are getting their first regular-season glimpse of rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

Matt Cassel was ruled out early in the second quarter of Sunday's 20-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints after suffering a toe injury. Cassel was quickly carted to the locker room for tests. After the game, head coach Mike Zimmer said that Cassel had "several fractured bones" in his foot.

The veteran starter was 5-of-10 passing for 53 yards, authoring one field goal drive in two series.

When asked if Bridgewater would be the starting QB going forward, Zimmer said, "That is correct."

Entering with a 13-3 deficit, the rookie came on and immediately provided a spark, leading the Vikings into scoring territory.
