Veteran LB Vrabel staying with Chiefs after signing extension

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Chiefs announced Thursday that they have signed veteran linebacker Mike Vrabel to a contract extension.

No terms were announced in the deal with Vrabel, who would have become an unrestricted free agent Friday.

The 13-year veteran started 14 games for the Chiefs last season, finishing with 52 tackles and two sacks. He was acquired last year from the New England Patriots, with whom he won three Super Bowl rings and went to one Pro Bowl.
