Two O-line moves: Bears cut Asiata, promote Williams

CHICAGO -- The Bears have waived guard Johan Asiata and promoted guard/center Edwin Williams from the practice squad.

The Bears made the moves before their Monday night game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Bears claimed Williams off waivers Sept. 1. He was an undrafted free agent of the Redskins in 2009 and appeared in four games for Washington, starting two at right guard, after playing for Maryland.

Asiata had been used in short-yardage situations.
