Top-rated safety Berry scheduled to visit five NFL teams

Tennessee safety Eric Berry, considered the top defensive back in next month's NFL draft, has scheduled formal visits with the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday.

A source told NFL.com's Frank Tadych that Berry also will visit with the Cleveland Browns on April 7. According to Tadych's source, Berry visited with the Chiefs on Tuesday, then is scheduled to see the Redskins (Wednesday), Eagles (April 6) and Bucs (April 11).

The Eagles are the only team in that group without a top-five pick.

Berry's combination of speed, instincts, coverage ability and ball skills allows him to be a combination safety-cornerback, although he likely will play safety most of the time.

Berry suffered a sprained toe during his pro day two weeks ago, but it was a minor injury that shouldn't affect his first-round draft status. Berry sustained the toe injury during a drill run by Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.
