The Dallas Cowboys quarterback now is a father.

Hawkins Crawford Romo was born Monday night, according to the Cowboys' website, and weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. The family said both Hawkins and his mother, Candice Crawford Romo, are doing well.

Romo will have time to bond with his son because he doesn't need to report to organized team activities and minicamps until mid-May. The Cowboys' training camp is scheduled to begin in late July in Oxnard, Calif.
