Titans CB McCoutry sidelined after surgery on right forearm

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans starting cornerback Jason McCourty missed practice Wednesday as he recovers from surgery on his broken right forearm, an injury that will keep him out for at least this weekend's game against the Denver Broncos.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher refused to discuss McCourty's surgery, saying only that he will have an injury report Friday.

The second-year cornerback talked with reporters in the locker room. McCourty said the doctor only told him to get healthy and that he will be out until he is healthy.

McCourty was hurt Sunday during the Titans' 29-10 victory over the New York Giants, a game in which he came up with the first interception of his career in the end zone.

Rookie Alterraun Verner likely will make his first career start against the Broncos (1-2).
