Wednesday's Heads Up Football news:
- As the youth league featured in the reality series "Friday Night Tykes" learns about Heads Up Football, two of the league's coaches were suspended this week for actions displayed during a recent episode, the San Antonio Express-News reported.
Chavarria directed his players to hit opponents in the earhole of the helmets; a clear violation of the Heads Up Football principles.
Marecus Goodloe, who coaches the North East Colts, also was suspended for encouraging profanity during the series, including an obscene chant toward opponents.
Morgan said more sanctions could be coming after the end of the reality series, which has shown coaches screaming at crying and vomiting 8- and 9-year-old players.
- USA Football's Win, Lose or Draw blog encouraged football parents to teach kids how to play with class. It mentioned four lessons we should learn from how Richard Sherman and Peyton Manning interacted after Sunday's Super Bowl, including how to respect the opponent.
- The Atlanta Falcons will host a Heads Up Football clinic for kids this weekend in Watkinsville, Ga., the Athens Banner-Herald reported.
