Texans will become latest team to strike up deal with lottery

HOUSTON -- A person familiar with details of the partnership says the Houston Texans will unveil an instant-win game featuring their logo through the Texas Lottery on Tuesday.

The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the agreement had not yet been announced, said the game will be a $5 scratch-off ticket with prizes of up to $100,000.

A Lottery Commission spokesman said recently that both Texas teams were in negotiations for games, but the move will make the Texans the state's first team to announce its plans.

NFL owners voted to allow teams to sign licensing deals with state-sponsored lotteries in May. The New England Patriots and Washington Redskins have already announced deals.
