Texans' Jadeveon Clowney out for 'MNF' vs. Steelers

The Houston Texans won't be able to unleash their duo of terror in prime time against Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jadeveon Clowney is officially out for Monday Night Football. NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala said on Monday's Around The NFL that the linebacker ran on the field before the game to test his knee, but "his lateral movement just wasn't where his coaches would like."

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported earlier Monday it was doubtful that Clowney would play anyway, according to a source close to the player.

The Texans' goal was to have the outside linebacker this week to pair with J.J. Watt, but the No. 1 overall pick isn't ready to go.

Clowney was officially listed as questionable after practicing twice on a limited basis this week.

The rookie pass rusher suffered a torn meniscus in the Texans' opening-week win and underwent surgery.
