Terrell Suggs leaves walking boot behind, looks ahead

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs said on ESPN's "NFL Live" on Friday that he is out of a protective boot 10 weeks after suffering a torn Achilles' tendon.

"It's going great, I'm in good spirits, I like the progress that I'm making," Suggs said. "I came out of the boot last week, I'm just walking right now, doing muscle strengthening, trying to get the tendon back strong, and I'm great with where I'm at right now, just loving the process."

Suggs, last year's NFL Defensive Player of the Year, once again said he intended to return to the playing field in 2012.

"I'm really optimistic," Suggs said. "I kind of just want everybody to be surprised."
