Last week was a big week for the NFL, as the 2014 NFL Draft came and went at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Yet, it was an even bigger week for a high school senior in the small town of Crosby, Texas.

Back in February, Mike "Big Mike" Ramirez took to Twitter as part of a third period joke to see if Caitlyn, a Houston Texans cheerleader, would go to prom with him if he got 10,000 retweets. He even promised to ask her in a cute way, to which she happily obliged.

Well, 11,273 retweets and just over two months later, the pair were headed to prom on Saturday, May 11.

A bevvy of journalists tagged along, capturing the sweet event while a few thousand miles away the NFL draft was coming to a close. It was a great night for Ramirez, and one he certainly won't soon forget.

As for the long-term prospects of the relationship, however, Caitlyn is less certain.

"I plead the fifth," she said in response to questions about a second date.

Perhaps Big Mike will have to up the ante and get 20,000 retweets in order to secure date No. 2.

Stay tuned.
