Marshawn Lynch fined $20K for obscene gesture

An untoward display in Sunday's NFC Championship Game will hit Marshawn Lynch where it hurts: his wallet.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, per a league source, that the Seattle Seahawks running back was fined $20,000 for his obscene gesture after scoring a fourth-quarter touchdown in the 28-22 overtime win against the Green Bay Packers.

Seattle's outrageous come-from-behind victory wouldn't have been possible without Lynch shredding Green Bay for 157 yards off 25 carries, but his added flair -- which you can research on your own, thank you very much -- has cost the runner a fistful of dead presidents.

Lynch also made news before the game by threatening to wear non-approved gold cleats against the Packers, but opted for a league-mandated pair of green shoes after the NFL threatened to eject him.

Seattle's star running back wasn't the only Seahawk whose bank account took a hit on Thursday. Wide receiver Chris Matthews was fined $11,025 for making an obscene gesture.
