Still plenty of speculation regarding QBs in the draft

With all the focus of the last 12 hours surrounding Judge Susan Nelson's decision to lift the lockout, let's not lose sight of the other big event taking place in just a couple of days: a little thing called the NFL Draft. Just to keep you up to speed, here are a couple of little items you might have missed:

While most everyone expects Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert to be the first two quarterbacks off the board, there are many scenarios for where and how the rest of the QB crop will go. NFL Network's Mike Mayock said Monday night that he expects Washington’s Jake Locker to be the third QB drafted.

There's plenty of speculation that the Cincinnati Bengals could take a quarterback with the fourth overall pick Thursday night, but NFL.com's Gil Brandt thinks it is more likely they take a QB in the second round. As he pointed out in his Monday chat on NFL.com, the Bengalshave been spending a lot of time with QB prospects Andy Dalton and Christian Ponder.

Wondering about other positions of interest in the first round? There hasn't been much talk of tight ends, but as Elliot Harrison points out in Tuesday's Data Points, tight ends drafted in the first round fare much better than receivers taken in the first round.
