Steelers' Spaeth to miss 49ers game with quadriceps injury

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers rookie tight end Matt Spaeth will miss Sunday's game against San Francisco after not practicing all week because of a bruised quadriceps.

Spaeth, a third-round draft pick, had a touchdown catch in each of the first two games among his three receptions for 15 yards. He has been playing as the No. 2 tight end behind former first-round draft pick Heath Miller.

Jerame Tuman will replace Spaeth as Miller's primary backup.
