Tuesday's health and safety news from the world of football:

  • The Seattle Seahawks announced a single-day record for cash and cell phone donations as part of the team's Salute to Service activities. In addition to garnering more than $50,000 in cash donations, the team collected more than 1,300 cell phones. The donations go to Cell Phones for Soldiers, which assists active-duty military members and veterans with cost-free communications.
  • Former Lingerie Football League player Nikki Johnson recently took to television to air her grievances about safety concerns in women's professional football, writes the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
