Stanford hiring Jets assistant OC Bloomgren

Mike Bloomgren, the New York Jets' assistant offensive coordinator, is leaving the team to become Stanford University's offensive line coach/run coordinator, the *New York Daily News* reported Thursday, citing a source.

Stanford coach David Shaw confirmed Friday that he's hiring Bloomgren.

Bloomgren has spent four seasons with the Jets, with two seasons as quality-control coach before his promotion in 2009 to offensive assistant. He was assistant offensive coordinator last season.
