Second-round pick Cook, Vikings reach contract agreement

The Minnesota Vikings reached terms on a four-year deal with cornerback Chris Cook, their top draft pick, a source with knowledge of the deal told NFL.com's Steve Wyche on Thursday morning.

Cook, a second-round selection (No. 34 overall), will report to training camp with the rest of the team Thursday.

Cook likely will work into the Vikings' scheme in nickel coverages, but he could compete for a starting job with Cedric Griffin, who is rehabilitating from a torn anterior cruciate ligament sustained in the NFC Championship Game loss to the New Orleans Saints.
