Saints rookie Ingram out with heel injury for Rams matchup

New Orleans rookie running back Mark Ingram will not play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams because of a bruised heel, Saints coach Sean Paytonannounced Friday.

Ingram suffered the injury during the Saints' 62-7 romp over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. Payton told reporters that X-rays on Ingram were negative after the game, and the rookie sat out practice all week.

Payton also said Friday that running back Chris Ivory will be added to the team's active roster before Sunday's game.
