Unrestricted free agent defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson will visit with the New Orleans Saints this week, according to a league source.
Wilkerson was having a career year for Tampa Bay and on his way to a nice free-agent payday, but then suffered a season-ending knee injury in the penultimate game of the season.
He is recovering ahead of schedule and will make his first visit this week with the defending Super Bowl champions. Wilkerson has been negotiating with the Buccaneers as well about remaining there. New Orleans signed end Alex Brown earlier this week, but remains in the market for defensive linemen.
