Saints coach Payton expects CB Gay to be ready for Super Bowl

MIAMI -- Saints coach Sean Payton says he expects cornerback Randall Gay to be ready when New Orleans meets the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Gay sat on the sideline during the Saints' final walkthrough practice in Sun Life Stadium on Saturday.

Gay usually plays in five-defensive back formations. Payton says Gay is getting over a cold with congestion that caused him to miss practice on Friday.

Payton says he's less certain about the status of reserve running back Lynell Hamilton, who is also a special teams regular. Hamilton has sat out practice all week with a sore left ankle.
