Saints' Bush misses second consecutive practice with swollen knee

METAIRIE, La. -- Reggie Bush has missed two practices this week as the New Orleans Saints try to rest their running back's left knee before Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It's the same knee on which Bush had surgery last December to repair cartilage.

Bush is coming off one of his best games of the season, when he gained 98 yards and scored two touchdowns last Sunday in St. Louis.

Saints coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Bush has experienced some swelling in the knee and is receiving some rest. Payton wouldn't reveal Bush's chances of playing this Sunday.

Payton said he hopes Bush can practice Friday, but that the team will be cautious about doing anything that could set back the fourth-year pro.

Bush wasn't available for comment.
