Saints add CB Fassitt from practice squad, cut TE Humphrey

The New Orleans Saints signed cornerback Greg Fassitt from their practice squad Sunday for needed depth in the secondary and waived recently acquired tight end Tory Humphrey.

The move, announced shortly before the Saintsplayed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, marked the first time that Fassitt had been assigned to a 53-man regular-season roster after spending the past three seasons on the practice squads of the Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Saints.

Fassitt, who is 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds, played at Grambling State in northern Louisiana. He is needed by the Saints because cornerbacks Randall Gay and Jabari Greer are inactive with injuries.

Humphrey, a fourth-year pro, signed with the Saints as a free agent in the past week. He spent the last three seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
