Rogers voted Week 8 GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week

Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers is the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Oct. 26-27.

Rogers was selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com/gmc. The other finalists were defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka of the New York Giants, linebacker Joey Porter of the Miami Dolphins, defensive end Richard Seymour of the New England Patriots and cornerback Josh Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks .

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

Kiwanuka put up a career-high three sacks in the Giants' 21–14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kiwanuka totaled five tackles and had a forced fumble.

  Joey Porter, LB, 
 Miami Dolphins

Porter had four tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble that led to a safety in the Dolphins' 25–-16 victory against the Buffalo Bills.

Rogers led the Browns' defensive effort with nine tackles, a sack and blocked a field goal attempt in the fourth quarter as Cleveland beat the Jaguars 23-17.

  Richard Seymour, DE, New England 
 Patriots

Seymour led New England's defense with seven tackles, a sack and knocked down quarterback Marc Bulger four times in the Patriots' 23-16 win over St. Louis.

Wilson recorded six tackles and returned an interception 75-yards for a touchdown. The play ended J.T. O'Sullivan's day in the Seahawks' 34–13 victory against the 49ers.
