Roger Goodell talks to Connecticut kids about Heads Up Football

With football practices in full swing around the country, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell visited a practice Wednesday for a youth team in Fairfield, Conn., known as the Giants.

The Connecticut Post featured Goodell's visit as he talked about the Heads Up football program and safer ways to play the game they are learning.

The Heads Up Football program includes safer techniques, taking the head out of the game, concussion awareness programs and proper equipment fitting. It has a fan in one of the Giants' coaches.

Cirilli said eye contact is a big part of proper tackling technique.
