Robert Griffin III signs Washington Redskins contract

Robert Griffin III has signed a contract with the Washington Redskins, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports the deal is for four years and worth $21,119,098, fully guaranteed.

Griffin, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, becomes the highest-drafted player to sign his contract.

Griffin won the 2011 Heisman Trophy at Baylor, and is expected to rejuvenate a Redskins offense that has been underwhelming for many years.
