Saul, a Michigan State alum, was with the Rams for the entirety of his 12-year career. He made the Pro Bowl six straight times, from 1976 to 1981, his final year in the league. The Rams picked him in the eighth round of the 1970 NFL Draft.

Saul's former Rams teammate Jack Youngblood took to Twitter on Sunday to post his condolences to Saul's family.

"We lost Rich Saul today," Youngblood wrote. "Our prayers are with Eileen and the kids. He knew who he was and where he was going. See you again, Richie."
