Redskins safety LaRon Landry and cornerback Carlos Rogers didn't travel with the team to Tennessee and will not play against the Titans, The Washington Examiner and *The Washington Post* reported Saturday, citing a league source and two people familiar with the situation, respectively.
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Friday that Rogers and Landry got in "a little bit of practice" for the first time this week and "there's a chance" either or both would play Sunday.
The team has yet to make an official statement regarding the status of Landry or Rogers since Friday's injury report, which lists both players as questionable.
Rogers is fighting a sore right hamstring, and Landry has a sore Achilles' tendon.
Reed Doughty will replace Landry at safety, according to The Post and The Examiner.
The Post reported that cornerback Kevin Barnes, active in just three games this season, is expected to play a larger role Sunday, according to a source familiar with the situation. Cornerbacks Byron Westbrook and Phillip Buchanon are available, but defensive coordinator Jim Haslett wants to see what Barnes can do, according to Redskins employees.
In an attempt to spark a slumping receiving corps, the Redskinsadded rookie wideout Terrence Austin to the active roster from their practice squad Saturday, The Post reported, citing a person familiar with the situation.
The Post said it was unknown who the Redskins released to make roster room for Austin.
