Report: Newton receives record rookie endorsement deal

Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton has signed the largest apparel and shoe deal ever given to an incoming NFL rookie, CNBC reported Monday, citing sources.

The former Auburn quarterback's endorsement deal with Under Armour is bigger than the $1 million per year that Adidas agreed to pay Reggie Bush in 2006.

According to the sources, Under Armour will produce training and football gear, a signature shoe line, a personalized jersey and other Cam Newton-branded items.

Newton's marketing agent and an Under Armour spokeperson both declined to comment on the deal.
