Report: Munchak considering Gray for Titans' DC vacancy

Mike Munchak was introduced as the Titans' head coach Monday, and he already might have a defensive coordinator in mind: former Tennessee assistant Jerry Gray, the *Austin American-Statesman* reported, citing a source.

Munchak and Gray have history together, working on the same staff under former Titans coach Jeff Fisher for four seasons, including in Tennessee's 1999 Super Bowl campaign.

Gray took the job as the University of Texas' defensive backs coach just three weeks ago after spending the past 14 years as an NFL assistant. This past season, he served as defensive backs coach for the NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks.

The American-Statesman reported that the ongoing labor uncertainty in the NFL is a key sticking point for Gray, who would be leaving a more secure situation at Texas and doesn't want to be left out in the cold.

Gray couldn't be reached for comment by the newspaper.
