Report: Major League Baseball looks at how to protect catchers

More than a half-dozen catchers have landed on the seven-day concussion list this season, including five who have sustained head injuries after being hit by foul tips. Former MVP Joe Mauer recently became the biggest name to join the list, and the Minnesota Twins are considering changing his position.

Because of this, Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported that Major League Baseball is looking for new ways to protect the catchers.

Rosenthal said some of the solutions that MLB is examining are larger masks, heavier masks, different types of helmets and larger body padding.
