Reeling Eagles reportedly might turn to defensive consultant

In the City of Brotherly Love, everyone and their brother has an opinion on how to fix the 1-4 Philadelphia Eagles' leaky defense. Now comes word that the team might be willing to pay for an expert opinion on the subject.

ESPN reported Monday night that the Eagles will consider bringing in a defensive consultant during their bye week, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Eagles coach Andy Reid has taken a heap of criticism for promoting Juan Castillo from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator before the season. Philadelphia's high-priced defense has been guilty of poor tackling in all four losses this season, and the unit ranks 27th in scoring and 15th in yards allowed per game.

Reid said Monday that he wouldn't make any drastic changes. The Eagles visit the NFC East rival Washington Redskins on Sunday, the last game before their bye week.
