Ravens DT Ngata sidelined by ankle injury vs. Bengals

CINCINNATI -- Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is missing a game for the first time this season because of a sprained left ankle.

Ngata was inactive against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, leaving Baltimore without one of its main run stoppers. He was replaced by Justin Bannan, who started 15 games last season.

Ngata hurt his ankle during a 30-7 victory over the Denver Broncos last Sunday and didn't practice this week, prompting him to be listed as questionable.

The Bengals were without safety Roy Williams, who missed his third consecutive game with an injured forearm. Chinedum Ndukwe started in Williams' place again.

First-round draft pick Andre Smith was listed as inactive again after fully practicing with the team last week. The offensive tackle broke his left foot during preseason and hasn't played in a game.
