Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is traveling separately from the team to Arizona for Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to an illness, NFL Network's Omar Ruiz reported, per a team spokesman.
The expectation is that McVay will be available to coach Sunday's NFC West tilt, Ruiz added.
ESPN first reported the news.
The Rams (9-3) are sitting comfortably as the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture heading into Sunday's Week 14 matchup. According to Next Gen Stats, they have the highest percentage (35%) to earn the No. 1 seed.
McVay and the Rams take on the Cardinals (3-9) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
