Raiders release two young special-teams players

The Oakland Raiders waived rookie safety Stevie Brown and third-year wide receiver Jonathan Holland on Tuesday, the Contra Costa Times reported.

Brown made his NFL debut Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, playing primarily special teams. If he clears waivers, the Raiders plan to re-sign him to the practice squad. His release likely means veteran Hiram Eugene is close to returning from a hamstring injury.

Holland, primarily a special-teams player, was on injured reserve.
