Quick Take: Steelers (3-1) at Jaguars (2-2)

Last meeting
In last year's AFC wild-card game, the Jaguars recorded six sacks on Ben Roethlisberger, who threw three interceptions in Pittsburgh's 31-29 home loss.

Streaks
The Jaguars have won the last three regular-season meetings with the Steelers, and lead the overall series, 11-8.

Last week
The Steelers overcame injuries to running back Rashard Mendenhall and guard Kendall Simmons for a 23-20 home win over the Ravens in overtime. ... Josh Scobee kicked three field goals against Houston, including a 37-yarder that gave Jacksonville a 30-27 home win in overtime.

Keep your eye on ...
Pittsburgh's running backs: Already without starting RB Willie Parker (knee), the Steelers lost rookie Mendenhall (fractured shoulder) for the season and fullback Carey Davis (ankle) on Monday night. On Tuesday, the team signed Najeh Davenport and promoted Gary Russell from the practice squad. Davenport, Russell and Mewelde Moore are the only remaining healthy running backs in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh's O-line: A season-ending Achilles tear to Simmons, the Steelers' starting right guard, presents an even bigger challenge for Pittsburgh's offensive line, which has allowed 16 sacks in four games this season. Jacksonville, however, has taken down opposing quarterbacks just five times.

Jaguars WR Matt Jones: The fourth-year wideout has recorded at least five receptions in four straight games and found the end zone for the first time last week. He has been the most consistent receiver for David Garrard this season.

Did you know?
Steelers WR Hines Ward needs 38 receiving yards to surpass 9,000 for his career. ... Including the postseason, Jaguars CB Rashean Mathis has five interceptions in his last four games vs. the Steelers. Jacksonville is 13-6 when Mathis has an interception (including playoffs). ... Scobee has made game-winning field goals in consecutive weeks and has connected on 10 straight attempts.
