Quick Take: Saints defense bloodies Palmer

What we learned ...

More possible injuries for the Saints: Receiver Marques Colston was taken to the locker room early in the first half, while running back Reggie Bush also had his night cut short. Colston returned to the sidelines in the second half wearing street clothes, while Bush never came back.

Jeremy Shockey does not play: Shockey was held out of the Saints' first two preseason games as he recovered from a hamstring injury. He has been practicing and it was believed that he would make his first appearance for the Saints, but did not get into the game.

Carson Palmer left with a mixed bag: Palmer, who struggled against the Lions last week, completed 11 of 16 passes for 105 yards, but could not put any points on the scoreboard. Palmer, however, was without Pro Bowl wide receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, but started to build some chemistry with tight end Ben Utecht who had 4 receptions for 49 yards.

Bengals backfield: Chris Perry started again in place of Rudi Johnson, who has been has been hampered by a hamstring injury and did not play last week. Perry rushed for 36 yards on 12 attempts.
