Quick Take: Rookie Johnson lifts Titans

Titans RB LenDale White ran in from 1 yard late in the fourth quarter. Rob Bironas' extra point gave Tennessee a 17-7 lead with 3:50 remaining. A late Jaguars field goal by Josh Scobee made it 17-10, but Tennessee closed the door on Jacksonville's next posession, ending the game with 9-yard sack on David Garrard.

The Titans drafted RB Chris Johnson for his speed and playmaking ability and the rookie flashed his skills all over the field Sunday, leading the Titans with 93 yards rushing. He also scored on one of his three receptions before leaving the game with an injury in the fourth quarter.

Key stat
The Titans held Jacksonville to just 33 rushing yards on 17 carries. The Jaguars did not help themselves on third down either, going 5-of-13.

Noteworthy
Jaguars starting guards Vincent Manuwai and Maurice Williams both left with injuries and did not return. ... Garrard threw two interceptions after recording just three all of last season. It is the first time Garrard has thrown multiple interceptions in the regular season since Dec. 17, 2006, also playing at Tennessee. ... Titans backup QB Kerry Collins entered the game after Vince Young limped off the field with 4:14 remaining in the game. Young sustained an injury to his left leg.
