Quick Take: Rivers, Hester shine for Chargers

What we learned ...

Philip Rivers is healthy: The Chargers quarterback is coming off offseason knee surgery, but did not show any ill effects. Rivers led the Chargers to touchdowns in two of his four series that he played.

**Miles Austin makes a statement:** The Cowboys are looking for reliable receivers behind Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton. Austin might have caught some eyes as he recorded five receptions for 64 yards.

Jacob Hester gets some goal-line attempts: The Chargers have plans to use Hester in a variety of ways -- as a fullback, H-back and backup running back. Hester got two shots to run the ball at the goal line -- which he converted for touchdowns -- maybe showcasing another role for him in the future.

Adam Jones returns: Jones, who missed the entire 2007 season, made his return to the field with the Cowboys. Jones was flagged for pass interference to set up Hester's second touchdown.

Felix Jones displays skills: The Cowboys first-round draft choice showed some big-play ability, rushing for 32 yards and also hauling in two receptions.
