Rookie QB Joe Flacco took a snap midway through the third quarter, handed the ball off to backup QB Troy Smith, who then passed it back to Flacco, who had sprinted into a route. Flacco ran down the left sideline for a 43-yard gain, setting up a field goal that put the Ravens up 22-3.

Game ball
Rookie running back Ray Rice turned in the best performance of his young career, finishing with 64 yards on the ground while hauling in three receptions for 37 yards. He also averaged 27 yards on two kickoff returns.
