Quick Take: Jets (1-5) at Bengals (1-4)

Last meeting
Early in the 2004 season, New York defeated the Bengals 31-24. Jets running back Curtis Martin rushed for 196 yards and scored two touchdowns. Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer made his NFL debut and threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Streaks
The Jets have won the last five meetings and lead the overall series 12-6.

Last week
Wearing navy and gold throwback jerseys in honor of the old New York Titans, the Jets fell at home to Philadelphia, 16-9. ... The Bengals converted just 1-of-11 third downs and picked up only 78 yards on the ground en route to a 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

At stake
Both teams need a win to halt losing streaks. The Jets look to stop a three-game skid and the Bengals haven't won a game since Week 1.

Key matchup:
Jets quarterback Chad Pennington vs. Bengals defense. They might be ranked 30th in the league on offense, but the Jets haven't faced a pourus defense like the one owned by the Bengals, who are ranked 30th on that side of the ball. Last week, the Bengals made the Chiefs' Damon Huard look like the next coming of Len Dawson. Pennington should enjoy a big day.
