Dolphins safety Renaldo Hill posted his third interception of the season when he stepped in front of a Tyler Thigpen pass with under one minute remaining in the fourth quarter. Hill returned the ball 16 yards to the Kansas City 3-yard line, allowing Miami's offense to go into victory formation and stay in the AFC East race.

Chad Pennington led the Dolphins on a 13-play, 85-yard drive for the go-ahead score, hitting tight end Anthony Fasanoon a 14-yard touchdown pass with 4:14 left in the fourth quarter. Pennington finished 26-of-34 passing for 235 yards and three touchdowns. He threw three TD passes in a game for only the second time this season.
