Quick Take: Cardinals hold off Texans

It was over when ...

The Cardinals stuffed Texans RB Chris Brown on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line. After a 5-yard pick up on first down, the Texans had a second-and-goal from the 1 yard line, but could not punch the ball in. Brown was stuffed on second down, and Matt Schaub's pass on third down to Joel Dreessenn had just a bit too much air under it for the tight end to get his toe down in the back of the end zone.

Game ball

The Cardinals appeared to be losing steam as the Texans rallied from 21 points down to tie the score and were driving to score the go-ahead points. But Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie stepped in front of Schaub's pass and raced 49 yards for what proved to be the winning touchdown.

Key Stat

Schaub and Cardinals QB Kurt Warner both topped 300 passing yards, but the key was the one crucial turnover by Schaub.

Noteworthy

Texans WR Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels led all receivers with eight receptions. Johnson also had two touchdowns. ... Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald was held without a touchdown against the Colts in Week 3, but made up for that with two touchdowns against the Texans. ... The Cardinals and 49ers now each have two losses on the season. But the 49ers hold first place in the division with three wins, because they have not had their bye week.
