A source with knowledge of the situation told La Canfora that the tear was not as damaging as it could have been, and Clady's recovery could take three-to-four months. That means he could miss all of the team's offseason and training camp activities, which would also cloud Clady's status for the start of the season.
Clady's agent, Pat Dye Jr., didn't immediately return a phone call.
Clady was the 12th overall pick out of Boise State in the 2008 NFL draft. He allowed the fewest sacks among tackles as a rookie and last year became the 11th tackle to earn Pro Bowl honors in his second season.
