Polamalu inactive for Steelers, replaced by Carter vs. Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five-time Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu was inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday because of an injury to his left knee. He was replaced by Tyrone Carter.

Polamu was sidelined earlier this season with another injury to the left knee.

Also inactive for the defending Super Bowl champions against the Kansas City Chiefs was defensive end Travis Kirschke, who has a calf injury. He was replaced by Nick Eason.

The only starter inactive for the Chiefs was linebacker Mike Vrabel, who has a knee problem.
