PROSPER, Texas -- The estranged wife of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has asked that a protective order against her be lifted because both were cited in a domestic dispute.

An attorney for Pilar Sanders says a hearing will be May 8. Wednesday's motion seeks to vacate an emergency order that Deion Sanders secured Tuesday, a day after the domestic incident, to keep his wife away from their home for 60 days.

The NFL Network analyst filed for divorce in December but the couple still shared a mansion in Prosper. Pilar Sanders was charged with misdemeanor assault and spent Monday night in jail. She was treated for a broken thumb and a split lip.

Deion Sanders hours later was cited for misdemeanor simple assault. He was not arrested.

Prosper police say the investigation continues.
