Phillips, Reeves return to sideline for East-West Shrine Game

Former NFL coaches Wade Phillips and Dan Reeves will coach against each other in the East-West Shrine Game at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Jan. 22.

Organizers made the announcement Wednesday. The 86th annual game is the longest-running college football all-star game in the country.

Phillips was fired as coach of the Dallas Cowboys in November after a 1-7 start. Reeves has coached the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Denver Broncos.

The two coaches have been friends for more than two decades. Phillips was an assistant under his mentor, and he replaced Reeves as head coach of the Broncos and later the Falcons.

Reeves also coached in the Shrine game in 2007.

The East-West Shrine Game will be broadcast on NFL Network on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. ET.
