Patriots add WR depth with Gonzalez signing

As the New England Patriotscontinue to negotiate with free-agent wideout Brandon Lloyd, the team bolstered its receiving corps by signing Anthony Gonzalez on Saturday.

Debate: Who's dropping the ball?

Wide receivers are certainly cashing in during free agency. But which deal will be the most regrettable? Let's debate! **More ...**

The Pats announced the deal via their official website, and the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Gonzalez has battled injuries throughout his career after getting selected in the first round of the 2007 draft. Gonzalez has 99 career receptions for 1,307 yards and seven touchdowns in five seasons with the Colts.

The signing of Gonzalez provides the Patriots with more depth at receiver and insurance against a potential Wes Welker injury. Welker was hit with the franchise tag prior to free agency.
