Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman excused from practice

Linebackers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman missed the opening practice of the 49ers' three-day minicamp Tuesday with excused absences, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bowman's girlfriend is expecting twins.

Willis was at practice briefly Tuesday, but left to fly home for personal reasons, according to a team spokesman.

Cornerback Carlos Rogers, who has complained of a calf strain during the team's offseason workouts, took part in some drills early Tuesday.
