Packers sign Preston for help on offensive line

Age: 26

Height: 6-5  Weight: 326

College: Illinois

Experience: 5 seasons

The Green Bay Packers have signed free agent offensive lineman Duke Preston, the team announced Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Preston is the first free agent from another team that the Packers have signed this offseason.

The 6-foot-5, 311-pound Preston spent four seasons with Buffalo after being drafted by the Bills in the fourth round of the 2005 draft (No. 122 overall). In four seasons, Preston appeared in 59 games for the Bills, starting 20 of them.

Preston started a career-high 11 games for the Bills last season -- all of them coming at center after regular starter Melvin Fowler was lost for the season with an elbow injury. With experience at both guard and tackle, Preston will likely be a prospect at all three positions come training camp.
